Death of 4-year-old boy being investigated.
GRANT TOWNSHIP — The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 4-year-old boy who died Friday, July 1, at an address on West Clay Road.
“It is my unfortunate duty to advise you all that yesterday afternoon at 3:20 p.m., the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an address on West Clay Road in Grant Township to assist Grant Township Rescue and Life Emergency Ambulance with a 4-year-old boy who was not breathing.” states Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast in a press release. “Aid was attempted at the scene, and then the 4-year-old was transported to Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby (now Trinity Health Hospital) where it was found that he had passed away.
“The incident is still under investigation and more information will be made available as it comes in. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday which will give us more information.
“Oceana County Victim Services and Oceana Child Protective Services were on the scene to assist as well. Please keep this family in your prayers.”
