HART — The Pirates are playing a soccer game this Saturday, June 25, to help a fellow Pirate.
A soccer benefit match for Ruben Perez is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Hart High School soccer field. Alumni will face off against the Hart High School boys and girls soccer teams, said organizer Alex Hardy.
“A previous Hart High school soccer player, Ruben Perez, was recently diagnosed with cancer,” said Hardy. “We are hoping to raise money to help cover his expenses as he undergoes chemotherapy treatment for the next six months. All alumni are welcome to play or watch the game. We hope to see the community there to not only enjoy the game, but also to support a young adult that needs our help.”
Admission is $5 per person, and donations are welcome.
