Expect heavy US 31 traffic beginning June 21 due to Electric Forest.
ROTHBURY — With the massive Electric Forest Festival at the Double JJ Resort just less than two weeks away, local motorists should plan for heavy traffic in the area, particularly US 31.
The event is scheduled for Thursday through Sunday, June 23-26. However, early entry passes this year allow forest goers to arrive as early as Tuesday, June 21. During previous years, they were allowed to arrive as early as Wednesday.
This year, Electric Forest is selling “load-in” parking passes for $75 to allow forest attendees by noon Tuesday, June 21.
After the event ends Sunday, June 26, expect heavy southbound traffic on US 31 Monday morning, June 27.
The global event was canceled the last two years due to COVID-19. Tickets are sold out for this year’s Electric Forest.
There are no vaccination, testing and masking requirements.
“In accordance with current local guidelines, there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Electric Forest 2022,” states the event’s website. “However, HQ encourages all members of the Forest Family to continue to take care of each other – get vaccinated, test before arriving at the Forest and wear a mask. If within five days of your planned arrival at the Forest you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or you test positive for COVID-19, you should be isolating or quarantining in accordance with CDC guidelines. Please make a responsible decision — stay home and do not endanger the health and safety of the Forest Family.”
