Memorial Day parades and events.

The following are service and parade schedules and other activities planned in Oceana County for Memorial Day, May 30.

– New Era: 9 a.m. parade downtown. Route begins at New Era Christian School and ends at New Era Public School. 

– Hart: 11 a.m. parade begins in front of the Oceana County Courthouse downtown and continues to Hart Cemetery.

– Shelby: 10 a.m. parade downtown, begins at Thomas Read Elementary School; goes west to N. Michigan Avenue; south to 3rd Street; and east to Memorial Park. Military services follow at Mt. Hope and Benona cemeteries. 

– Rothbury: 9 a.m. service at the cemetery across from the Rothbury Community Church, followed by a service at Oak Grove Cemetery on Webster Road. 

– Walkerville: 9 a.m., service at Fairlawn Cemetery west of the village. 

– Pentwater: 10 a.m. parade line-up on First Street with services at the municipal marina, Village Green and Pentwater Cemetery. 

– Hesperia: 10 a.m., services at the Vida Weaver Park Pavilion and the West Cemetery, parade downtown.

– Ferry: Services begin at the North Cemetery at 9 a.m.; proceed to the South Cemetery at 9:30 a.m.; then the Otto Township Cemetery at 10 a.m.; and wrap up with a parade in town at 10:30 a.m.
