Obituary; Steven Harmon, 62, of Shelby. 

Steven Charles Harmon, 62, of Shelby, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 20, 2022, while home with the love of his life, Julie.
Whether you knew him as StevePa, Papa Grande, Steve-O, Big Papi, or his favorite nickname of all – Grampy – he undoubtedly made you feel welcome and at ease with his comfortable conversation and genuine, authentic demeanor.
He enjoyed life with a contagious enthusiasm that he shared freely, whether on the golf course, in the bowling alley, or just cruising with the top down in his “mid-life-crisis-red” Mustang convertible.
Steve spent 30-plus years at Steelcase during which he developed treasured friendships that extended beyond the office. In addition, he coached and mentored many young golfers in West Michigan, spending countless hours on the course with his own kids and grandkids, who he adored, and who he has imparted with his pure love of life (and Sparty-parties.)
Born July 7, 1959, in Big Rapids, the son of Denver Charles Harmon, DDS and Caroline Louise (Stiefel) Harmon, Steve is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Julie Anne Harmon; their children, Jamie (Nick) Jordan, Matt (Pagiel) Harmon, and Stephanie (Charlie) Bazan; their six grandchildren, Collins and Max Jordan, and Eli, Beckett, Tate, and Josiah Harmon; his father, Chuck Harmon; siblings, Mike (Cindy) Harmon and Anne Orlowski; in-laws, Dave and Nancy Cotton; brothers-in-law, Jon (Linda) Cotton, Jed (Laura) Cotton, and Jason (Rachel) Cotton; several amazing nieces, nephews, and great-nieces; as well as his much-cherished extended family.
Steve was preceded in death by: his mother, Carol Harmon; brother-in-law, James Orlowski; and “brother-from-another-mother, Joseph “JoePa” Beel. He is additionally welcomed to Heaven by several cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
Memorial services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart. The family will receive friends and family from 1 p.m. until a Celebration of Life at 2:30 p.m., and afterwards at Big Hart Brewing Company (approximately 4 to 6 p.m.) for sharing memories and raising a toast.
Please dress as Steve lived (casual attire requested and appreciated).
