Obituary: Robert Rudnick, Sr., 85, of Hart.
Robert Frank Rudnick Sr., 85, of Hart, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Monday, April 11, 2022. He was born June 12, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of August and Gertrude (Barnes) Rudnick.
Robert worked as forklift driver for Brunswick, retiring after 40 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Robert was also a volunteer firefighter on the Norton Shores Fire Department for several years. He enjoyed communicating with others over his CB Radio; his handle was the “Norton Shores Redhead”
Robert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and especially snowplowing. He also enjoyed square dancing with Marjorie on the Hi-Neighbors Square Dance Team.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marjorie (Gilbert); his children, Robert (Molly) Rudnick Jr., Edward Rudnick, Ernest (Minna) Rudnick, and Judy Carpenter; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Joe Rudnick.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta (David) Padron; six grandchildren; son-in-law, Joe Carpenter; brothers, Clifford (Mary-Ann) Rudnick, and John (Mary) Rudnick; sister, Patricia Rudnick; and father and mother-in-law.
Funeral Services will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Hart Wesleyan Church, 3757 W Polk Rd, Hart, with Pastor Bob Gray officiating. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Center Riverton Cemetery, 2182 W Hawley Road, Scottville (Riverton Township).
