Obituary: Hayden Zaverl, 21, of Shelby. 

Hayden Scott Zaverl, 21, of Shelby, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born January 23, 2001, in Shelby, the son of Roger and Gina (Herrygers) Zaverl.

Hayden was an experienced carpenter, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the great outdoors. Hayden loved spending time with family and friends, and was always able to make people laugh.

Hayden is survived by: his parents; siblings, Kelli (Joey Dempsey) Zaverl, Austin (Maria) Zaverl, Conner (Jersey Dewitt) Zaverl, Lukas (Maria) Zaverl, Melissa (James) Steffes; girlfriend, Brielle Wigent; grandparents, Robert and Ruth Zaverl, and Judi Herrygers; nieces and nephews, Jeremy Zaverl, Caleigh Steffes, Lindsey Steffes, Hilary Steffes, Addison Shook, Payton White, Jasmine Ingalls, Brayden Schlehuber, Amelia Ruiz, Charlie Zaverl, and Gavynn Dewitt; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Hayden was preceded in death by: his grandparents, August Herrygers Jr. and Gloria Jean Herrygers.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Harris Funeral Home, 267 North Michigan Avenue, Shelby. Private interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shelby.
