Walkerville Wesleyan Church hires Pastor Bob Abbott.

WALKERVILLE — The Walkerville Wesleyan Church welcomed Pastor Bob and Anne Abbott as senior pastors last month.

The Abbotts have accepted a two-year call. Prior to accepting this call, Bob retired from Atlas Pacific Engineering in January as a senior service representative.

“Please join us in welcoming them to Walkerville Wesleyan Church as our senior pastor and spiritual leader,” states a press release. “Our Sunday worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with Junior Church for pre-K to 12th grade. All are welcome. Visit our website for more information about the church: WalkervilleWesleyanChurch.org.”

Pastor Bob’s bio:

Bob Abbott worked for Atlas Pacific Engineering for over 14 years. He was responsible for maintaining machines for day-to-day operation; preventative maintenance programs; set-up and maintaining part inventories; training of plant mechanics and service techs; and managed customer relationships.

Pastor Bob is not new to the WWC church. He first came to the church in 1988 and served until 2001. While at WWC, he led the relocation project of the church located at 144 S. Hamon Street. In 1999, he led a second project — the construction of our fellowship hall, additional classrooms, kitchen and a gymnasium.

He served as senior pastor at Elbridge Community Church for five years from 2001-2006.

He returned to Walkerville in 2006 and served as the senior pastor from 2009-2014 and as an assistant to Pastor Jeff Lemire from 2014-2021. Altogether, he has been affiliated with the church for almost 30 years.

His first pastoral call as senior pastor was at King’s Chapel in Alexandria, Indiana for two years in 1986, while completing his bachelors’ degree. He graduated in 1988 from Indiana Wesleyan University and was ordained in 1990.
