Tiger bands receive top ratings at festival.

SHELBY — The Tiger high school and middle school bands recently received superior ratings at festival competition.

“Festival performances are coming to a close in District 1,” said Shelby Band Director Erin Ray. “Shelby Public Schools had the pleasure of hosting MSBOA (Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association) Festival for the first week of performances at the high school March 2-3. 

“It was a great learning experience for our students and director. Shelby middle school and high school bands received a division 1 (superior) rating from all judges and an overall division 1,” said Ray. “We are so proud of our students for representing our school and putting all of the hard work in. Shelby bands now move on to their spring season of performances for the remainder of the school year.”
