SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 29-year-old Shelby man suffered minor injuries in a rear-end crash on Oceana Drive near 79th Avenue Friday, March 4, shortly before 1 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report. 

The driver of a 2010 Ford Explorer — a 33-year-old Walkerville woman — told the deputy on scene that her vehicle was rear-ended by a 2014 Volkswagen Passat driven by the 29-year-old Shelby man as she was waiting for traffic to clear to turn left. 

He told the deputy that he looked down at his radio and did not see the Explorer stopping in front of his vehicle and accidentally rear-ended it. 

The man was not transported by ambulance, according to the report. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
