78th District Court sentencings, Feb. 15, 2022.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

  • Mitchell William Darling, 26, of 6192 Baker Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 14 of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for 29 days served; six months probation; driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; and $1,780 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license suspended (DWLS) was dismissed.

 

  • Paul Allen Long, 53, of 6932 W. Buchanan Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 14 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 180 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $1,480 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

 

  • Andrew John Steffes, 33, of 2937 128th Ave., Holland, Michigan, was found guilty Feb. 14 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; outpatient treatment; and $1,155 in fines and costs.

 

  • Kimball Allen Berger, 73, of 3656 N. Railroad Rd. Ave, Mears, was found guilty Feb. 14 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); driver’s license suspended one year/restricted after 60 days; and $1,205 in fines and costs. One count of failure to report an accident was dismissed.

 

  • Richard Alan Lattin, Jr., 31, of 207 Hawley St., Hesperia, was found guilty Feb. 14 of methamphetamine use and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for two days served and $500 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of methamphetamine possession was dismissed.

 

  • Bradley John-Scott Belson, 26, of 426 N. William St., Ludington, was found guilty Feb. 14 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; outpatient treatment; and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • Ashley Lynn Gale, 31, of 11434 N. Bingham, Bitely, was found guilty Feb. 14 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail and $450 in fines and costs. Charges of taking a fish with anything other than a single-line hook and truancy were dismissed in separate cases.
