I would like to commend Newfield Township Board for all they have done and continue to do for the residents of Newfield Township. The board consists of lifelong residents who truly care about our community and always put the community’s wants and needs first and foremost. Some of their accomplishments consist of: Roadwork on 200th Avenue, fixing half of Hawley Street with plans of completion this summer, fixed Riverview Drive north of M-20, and there are plans to fix more roads during the summer months.
Improvements have been done at all cemeteries, and Oxbow and Hightower parks, they are putting in a recycling center at the town hall, are looking into a food truck to distribute food to needy families, putting in a sign and lighting at the town hall and a playground is in the works. They are also working with a company to get a cell tower put in for our community.
At Thanksgiving they helped Oceana Gardens set up and distribute turkeys to our residents. The list goes on and on as they continue their work serving Newfield Township, as a whole.
It is not about their job or their title, it is about helping a community they grew up in and wanting to see it thrive and flourish.
