Obituary: Nancy Beth Mac Laine, 88, of Hart.

Nancy Beth Mac Laine, 88, of Hart, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was born December 20, 1933, in Bellport, New York, to Ferdinand and Aletha (LaFave) Schivera. On August 16, 1953, in Long Island, NY, she married G. Bruce Mac Laine, who preceded her in death on January 14, 2010.

Nancy enjoyed her family very much; she took pride in her children. Nancy was proudly a homemaker for the majority of her life. Before she met Bruce she worked for New York Bell Telephone Company. When her children were grown, Nancy went back to school to achieve her real estate license and CNA certificate. Nancy was a caregiver her entire life; she loved and enjoyed helping others. She was the great storyteller of the family, taking great pride in her heritage. Nancy also loved animals; two of her greatest loves were Teddy (Theodore Curtis MacLaine) and Remi Lou, who kept her company and gave her great comfort during her last days.

Nancy is survived by her children, Gayle Shinn of Manahawkin, NJ, Gregory Bruce (Rosemary) Mac Laine of Toms River, NJ, Marilyn Keller of Melbourne, Fla., and Candice (Scott) Curtis of Manistee; nine grandchildren, Douglas (Julia) Shinn, Jeanenne (Steven) Clanton, Katie (Dave) Lansing, Steven Dunne, Courtney Mac Laine, Tyler Mac Laine, Amy (Andrew) Noonan, Daniel (Sanaa) Keller, Dakota (Raven) Curtis; several great-grandchildren, Emily Rose, Samuel, Maggie, Cole, Mackenzie Murial, Easton,  Ivy (David) Wilbur, Caitlyn Crum, Rami Lawrence, Sophia Nanette, Preston Ayer, Mackenzie Electra, Trinity, Aiden, and Johnny; and two great-great-grandchildren, Drew and Anakin.

Besides her husband, Nancy is preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Gloria, Marilyn, and Hazel; and infant great-granddaughter, Paisley Lynn.

The family would like to share a special thank you to her excellent caregivers over the years, Bradley Bliss, Susan Persson, and Dr. Zane Knoer. We would also like to thank the wonderful services of Hospice of West Michigan, Lori and Clayton for helping our mother during her final days to have a peaceful transition to Heaven.

Graveside services for Nancy will take place in the spring. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bruce, in Hart Cemetery.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
