HART — A 30-year-old Hesperia man was sentenced to one year in jail for a conviction of methamphetamine possession in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Jan. 24.
Nicholas James Gale, of 121 S. Winter St., was sentenced to two and a half to 10 years in prison in 2017 for a conviction of breaking and entering with intent. Gale was on parole at the time of his recent offense, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.
Sentencing guidelines in the case are 10-23 months, said Judge Bradley G. Lambrix.
“I’d like to apologize to my kids for having to leave them again,” said Gale via Polycom video conferencing from the Oceana County Jail. “I’d like to thank you guys for not sending me to prison again. I’d just like to apologize to all those who I hurt out there.”
“I don’t think you’ve displayed the proper conduct toward the community and society,” said Judge Lambrix. “Unfortunately, you made a very poor choice. I certainly hope you use your time to reflect.”
The judge gave Gale credit for 61 days served in jail.
