Obituary: Helen Baker, 79, of Hart.

Helen Lucille Baker, 79, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 31, 1942, in Greenville, the daughter of Nathan and Iva (Varney) VanHoose.

Helen retired from Frigidaire in Greenville, where she had been employed for over 20 years. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed sewing, quilting, camping and birdwatching.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Bill Rutter) Ray of Hart, and Shelly (James Coles) Miller of Hart; five grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda Hutchins) Baker, Nathan (Melodie Genta) Ray, Jamie (Travis) Smallegan, Duder (Tiffanie) Miller, and Jenny (Jason) Stayner; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way, several nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and her four-legged companion, Lola.

Helen was preceded in death by: her first husband, Roger Philip Baker; her second husband, Edward Wright; and her sisters, Freda Batchelder and Wanda Schalow.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72^nd Avenue, Hart. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memory Gardens in Belding. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 14, 2022, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the funeral home.
