Obituary: Hector Vasquez-Melchor, 23, of Shelby.
Hector Francisco “Chiquilin” Vasquez-Melchor, 23, of Shelby, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born August 16, 1998, in Muskegon, the son of Lazaro and Yesenia (Vasquez) Madrigal.
Hector was a loving family man and friend to many. He was always happy and always showed empathy for people. Hectors interests were in cooking and going to the Silver Lake Dunes, and he will also be remembered as being an animal lover, a humble soul, and a loving son and brother. Hector would smoke anybody down that would come around.
Hector is survived by his parents, Yesenia and Lazaro Madrigal; brothers, Lazaro Madrigal, Ivan Madrigal, and Adan Madrigal; grandmother, Eloisa Vasquez; aunt and uncle, Ericka and Juan Salinas; cousins, Delee Salinas, Fatima Salinas, Gael Salinas, and Camila Salinas; aunt and uncle, Zandra and Antonio Vasquez; cousins, Ariana Vasquez, Anaise Vasquez, Ayarri Vasquez, and Santana Vasquez; aunt and uncle, Heraldo and Stacy Kane; cousins, Francisco Vasquez, Vianca Vasquez, Gabriela Vasquez, and Fabian Vasquez; uncle, Aurelio Melchor; and cousins, Anthony Melchor, Gregory Melchor, Casey Melchor, Aurelio Melchor Jr., and Barbara Melchor.
Hector was preceded in death by his grandfather, Francisco Vasquez; and cousin, Alaya Melchor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 316 South Peach Avenue, Hart with Rev. Daniel Schumaker presiding. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, December 3, 2021, at Hector’s home, 101 South 72nd Avenue, Shelby and Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart, with a praying of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
