Montague man pleads guilty to stealing trailer.

HART — A 24-year-old Montague man pleaded guilty to larceny $1,000-$20,000 in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Nov. 15.
Drew Edward Beatty, of 8808 Cook St., faces a jail term not to exceed one year in exchange for his plea. Sentencing guidelines in the case are seven to 23 months, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.
Beatty testified before Judge Robert D. Springstead that he and accomplice Jason Spears stole a 16-foot flatbed trailer June 23, 2020 in Hart Township and then later sold the trailer for $800.
Beatty also admitted that he and Spears stole work tools from a job work site Sept. 5, 2020 in Hart Township.
The maximum term for larceny $1,000-$20,000 is five years in prison, said the judge.
Sentencing is set for Jan. 31 at 11:30 a.m.
