HART — A 51-year-old Hesperia man faces spending the next 10-15 years in prison after pleading “no contest” to third-degree criminal sexual conduct in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Nov. 15.

Jose Castillo, of 5551 S. 200th Ave., testified before Judge Robert D. Springstead that he repeatedly forced a young girl to have oral sex with him at a New Era residence. The girl, who was 6 years old when the sexual assaults first began, endured the sexual assaults “multiple times” until she was 8 years old, the judge said.

“This happened while the victim’s mother was at work,” said Judge Springstead.

The victim’s family agreed to the plea arrangement, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

Judge Springstead ordered that Castillo be held in the Oceana County Jail without bond “due to the nature of the crime and his plea.”

The maximum penalty for the crime is 15 years in prison.

One count of first-degree CSC, which carries a mandatory 25-year minimum, was dismissed.

Sentencing is set for Jan. 31 at 9:20 a.m.
