New Era man sentenced for stealing trailer loaded with tools.

HART — A 25-year-old New Era man was sentenced in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Oct. 25, for a felony conviction of larceny over $1,000.

Trent Benjamin Montambo, of 3110 Tahoe Trail, committed the crime in the Lake Tahoe subdivision in Grant Township, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon. “He stole a trailer with tools on it,” said Bizon. He pleaded guilty Aug. 16.

Judge Bradley Lambrix set a restitution hearing for Dec. 4 at 8:30 a.m. “to determine the validity of expenses submitted by the victim,” his court file states. The victim claimed restitution in the amount of $4,000.

Montambo received no jail time, but was ordered to 18 months probation and $490 in fines and costs. 

Sentencing guidelines in the case are 0-6 months.
