Pirate News: Hart celebrates Homecoming.

Pirate News is a presentation of Hart Public Schools in partnership with Oceana County Press. 

HART — Hart High School celebrates Homecoming next week Oct. 17-23 with a full slate of fun activities.

The week kicks off Sunday, Oct. 17, with the Powderpuff Football tournament. Games start at 6 p.m., and the gates open to the public at 5:45 p.m.

Theme week begins Monday geared around the Wizard of Oz.

Friday, Oct. 22, is the big day for Spirit Week when the Pirates will have a pep assembly at the end of the school day. The Homecoming parade starts at 4:30 p.m. Friday and will travel through the heart of downtown. The football game against White Cloud will kick off at 7 p.m. with the crowning of the King and Queen at half time and the announcement of the winner of the Pirate Cup Homecoming competition.

Homecoming wraps up with the Pirates’ Homecoming Dance Saturday, Oct. 23, from 8-11 p.m.

Freshman Homecoming representatives are Tristan Smith and Nora Chickering, Sophomore representatives are Gabrielle Vasquez and Connor Edwards. Junior representatives are Bryce Jorissen and Mya Chickering. Senior king and queen candidates are Audrey Aerts, Jayd Hovey, Finley Kistler, Amanda Whitaker, Chance Alvesteffer, Mason Cantu, Chris Clark-Smith and Kohen Porter. Honorary Homecoming representatives are exchange students Claudia Anton Biezma, Gian Haarlamment, Lea Kusche, Himari Nishio, Lucia Izquierdo Pacios and Teemu Taipale.
