Janice Ruedisale

Obituary: Janice Ann Ruedisale, 66, of Hart.

The Lord called Janice Ann Ruedisale home on September 13, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born September 30, 1954, to John and Marilyn Sexson. Janice married Patrick (Pokey) Ruedisale on August 5, 1977, until his death in 2011. Jan and Pokey will now celebrate together forever.

Janice graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing. She continued her education at Michigan State University where she received a degree in social work. Janice then went on to earn her master’s degree at MSU. She was employed by the State of Michigan until her retirement. Janice went above and beyond to help families in crisis and was a mentor to many children and families.

Janice was a wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, and a good friend to many. She was loved by all her nieces and nephews, and touched their hearts with her smile and her great sense of humor. Every summer in August she would host the family for the Pentwater Homecoming. We enjoyed many stories, campfires, laughter, and good times were had by all. Her family was very important to her. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Christmas was an important holiday to Jan as well. She loved heading “Down State” to celebrate with all of us. Jan always met us with smiles and truly loved being around her family at Christmas.

Mrs. Ruedisale is survived by: her nephew, Jason (Chantel) Brownlee; and great nephew, Hunter of Lansing. Also surviving her are Michael (Marge) Ruedisale of Ann Arbor, Mary Kay Ruedisale of Lansing, Margaret (Edward) Spagnuolo of Grand Ledge, Marsha (Bobby) Crim of Grand Ledge, Lewis Ruedisale of Lansing, Wally (Vicki) Ruedisale of Grand Ledge, Theresa (Kirby) Albright of Lansing, Herbert (Andrea) Ruedisale of Lansing; her cats, Stella and Sierra; and numerous niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Patrick Ruedisale; parents, John and Marilyn Sexson; brother, James Sexson; sister, Sharon Sexson; and in-laws, Herbert and Betty Ruedisale

The family would like to thank all of the staff at Mercy Health – Mercy Campus and Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus for their kind and compassionate care.
