Man faces animal cruelty charge for cat’s death.

HART — A 48-year-old Hesperia man faces a misdemeanor of animal cruelty for the death of his pet cat.

Roy Edward Bromley, whose address is listed as 3215 S. 144th Ave. in 78th District Court records, is charged with cruelty to an animal causing death, which is punishable by up to one year in jail. The incident occurred May 3 in Hart Township, said Oceana County Assistant Prosecutor Kevin Harrington. .

It is alleged that Bromley “failed to provide adequate care to keep it alive,” said Harrington.

According to his court file, Bromley was arrested by the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office, Sept. 4. 

A pretrial in district court is set for Sept. 23 at 11:30 a.m. Bail was set at $3,500/cash/surety/10 percent.
