Obituary: Galen “Bill” Dunn, 89, of Hart. 

Galen Rex “Bill” Dunn, 89, of Hart, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at his home. He was born October 27, 1931, in Hancock County, Kentucky, the son of James and Lillian (Johnson) Dunn.

Bill served his country in the US Army, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a boilermaker by trade and was employed as a supervisor/foreman with Holly Construction Company in Belleville. Bill enjoyed motorcycles and was a longtime dune buggy enthusiast. He was very mechanically inclined, and was best known in Oceana County for repairing lawn mowers at his home or at his client’s homes.

Bill is survived by: his children, James Dunn and Shannon West, and their mother, Connie Dunn; grandchildren, Galen Carl Dunn and Mallory West; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; siblings, Ivy Bowman, Thelma Wilson, Ruby Seaton Rearden, Grace Blan, and James Dunn; and various nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Hart Cemetery, 126 W. Main Street, Hart, MI 49420. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, 2370 North 72nd Avenue, Hart.
