New Era farmer’s market will have a carnival Aug. 24.

NEW ERA — The New Era Farmer’s Market will offer an extra level of fun Tuesday, Aug. 24, with a carnival from from 4-7 p.m.

The New Era Farmer’s market kids program will feature story time with Read Early Read Often. Early Headstart will be on hand with information about registering kids for the program. Read Early Read Often and Early HeadStart will have free books for children to take home.

Children can also participate in an exercise session with EnerG Fitness. There will be carnival games, a balloon artist and cotton candy.

“We have 45 vendors signed up to tempt you to visit their booths,” said Market Manager Sandy Whitaker. There will be three hot food vendors, which include: Deb’s Cafe with meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy; Papa J’s Chili Dogs with walking tacos, hot dogs, chili dogs and loaded baked potatoes; and The Artisan with asparagus tamales, turkey cherry wraps and veggie wraps.

Local talented trio Guy Clements, Greg Bouse and Mike Snell will provide live music beginning at 5 p.m.

Look for Ray the scarecrow on the corner of Ray Street and Oceana Drive to guide you to the fun.
