Missing kayakers found safe.

BENONA TOWNSHIP — Two kayakers reported missing on Lake Michigan were found safe Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 10, said Oceana County Undersheriff Ryan Schiller.

“A caller said his wife and daughter were missing on kayaks,” said Undersheriff Schiller. They were last seen in the lake near South Glen Road. They were wearing life jackets, he said.

The two women from Virginia, ages 66 and 29, were located on the beach near the Stone Church. 

Assisting at the scene were the Shelby-Benona Fire Department and DNR conservation officers.
