Expect heavier marine patrol presence this weekend.
Sheriff’s office reminds boaters to be safe.
OCEANA COUNTY — Expect a heavier marine patrol presence over the next few days on local waters as the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division prepares for a busy summer weekend.
This weekend is Pentwater’s Homecoming celebration, which draws thousands of people to town who will flock to the Charles Mears State Park on Lake Michigan. Many boaters are expected to be in Pentwater Lake and Lake Michigan enjoying the warm water temperatures and sunny skies.
“We want everyone to enjoy the water, but be safe,” said Oceana County Undersheriff Ryan Schiller.
