Deputy catches car theft suspect.

A 28-year-old Jonesville, Michigan woman was arrested in Oceana County early Saturday morning, July 3, after she allegedly stole a 2017 Chevrolet Cruz from the 1500 block of Betty Avenue in Mason County’s Pere Marquette Township, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

The woman was also wanted on an outstanding warrant.

A “be on the lookout” was issued by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office around 1 a.m., and an Oceana County sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle on US 31 near Shelby Road, said Sheriff Cole. A traffic stop was conducted by the Oceana County deputy, and the suspect was turned over to the Mason County deputies.

The woman was also charged with operating under the influence and driving while license suspended, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
