HART — A three-day jury trial has been scheduled for the driver involved in a deadly crash that occurred last September at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Adams Road in Crystal Township.
Gregory Glenn Boos, 46, of 2829 124th Ave., Hart, faces felony charges of operating while intoxicated causing death and reckless driving causing death.
Adam Wayne Selig, 43, of Shelby died following the two-vehicle crash.
The trial in Oceana County’s 27th Circuit Court is set for Oct. 5-7 before Muskegon County Circuit Court Judge Timothy Hicks.
Selig, who was a passenger in a 1981 Chevrolet Corvette, was airlifted from the scene by an Aeromed helicopter and transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where he died.
The Corvette driver, Boos, was transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus in Muskegon.
Walkerville Fire and Rescue used its Jaws of Life equipment to extricate Selig who was trapped in the wreckage.
The other vehicle involved in the crash was a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old Montague man. An 18-year-old Montague woman was a passenger in the truck. Neither were injured in the crash, said Michigan State Police.
Crystal Township Fire Department and the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
Muskegon County Prosecutor DJ Hilson is prosecuting the case, because Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon recused himself due to a conflict of interest. 27th Circuit Court Judge Robert D. Springstead also disqualified himself from the case due to a conflict of interest.
The victim, Selig, was a relative of an Oceana County court employee.
