78th District Court sentencings, May 27, 2021.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

  • Amy Marie Dodge, 33, of 1116 S. 132nd Ave., Shelby, was found guilty April 28 of failure to report an accident to fixtures and was sentenced to $500 in fines and costs. One count of failure to report an accident was dismissed.

 

  • Jared Michael Miller, 20, of 5154 N. Wayne Rd., Pentwater, was found guilty April 27 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served and $250 in fines and costs.

 

  • Eric Allen Minzey, 34, of 4121 Riverview Dr., Hesperia, was found guilty April 28 of forest fires — no burning permit and was sentenced to $350 in fines and costs.

 

  • Shana Michelle Harper-Whitlow, 43, of 988 Wilson Rd., Mears, was found guilty April 29 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $450 in fines and costs. A second count of DWLS was dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).

 

  • Eric William Tatro, 26, of 7251 Progress Rd., Twin Lake, was found guilty April 29 of violation of restricted license and was sentenced to $545 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

 

  • Karl Lee Civis, 28, of 111 Maple St., River Rouge, Michigan, was found guilty May 4 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; outpatient treatment; and $1,105 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

 

  • Steven Lynn Landis, 32, of 1295 N. Water Rd., Hart, was found guilty May 11 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for two days served and $450 in fines and costs. One count of fourth-degree child abuse was dismissed.

 

  • Brittany Talaiya Woods, 25, of 2532 Maffett St., Muskegon, was found guilty May 6 of possession of open intoxicants — passenger and was sentenced to $375 in fines and costs.

 

  • William James Reichle, 49, of 985 N. Luce Ave., White Cloud, was found guilty May 6 of DWLS and was sentenced to $200 in fines and costs. He was found guilty in a separate file of DWLS May 6 and was sentenced to $570 in fines and costs. Convictions reportable to SOS. In a third file, charges of DWLS and operating without insurance were dismissed.

 

  • Tristan James Baker, 20, of 417 Lincoln St., Hart, was found guilty May 3 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served and $450 in fines and costs. A second count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

 

  • Dontel Lamar Jones, Jr., 23, of 3117 Woodcliffe Dr., Muskegon, was found guilty May 3 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,140 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

 

  • Nancy Lucille Perez, 46, of 416 E. Jefferson St., Hart, was found guilty May 3 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; AHSE; and $1,105 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed.

 

  • Juan Sanchez, Jr., 24, of 68 N. State St., Shelby, was found guilty April 26 of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for 92 days served; AHSE; and $250 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • Donald James Waldo, 61, of 360 3rd Ave., Pentwater, was found guilty May 3 of assault and battery and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; no contract with the victim; and $705.30 in fines, costs and restitution.

 

  • Ricky Lee Aguirre, 44, of 417 S. Courtland St., Hart, was found guilty March 22 of two counts of attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and was sentenced to one year suspended jail for each count with credit for one day served and $600 in fines and costs. One count of domestic violence was dismissed.

 

  • Charles Edward Baird II, 39, of 309 Andover Dr., London, Ohio, was found guilty May 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $300 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.

 

  • Jose Luis Garza, 34, of 5391 Brunswick Rd., Holton, was found guilty May 12 of DWLS and was sentenced to $375 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

 

  • Ismael Gonzalez, Jr., 31, of 2707 W. Lake Rd., Hart, was found guilty May 12 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $450 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

 

  • Charles Curtis Knowles, Jr., 34, of 2241 Strand Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty May 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $425 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license expired was dismissed.

 

  • Dennise Maydon, 25, of 935 Thomas Rd., Grand Rapids, was found guilty May 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license not valid was dismissed.

 

  • Patrick Wayne Mengel, 41, of 6151 E. Fillmore Rd., Walkerville, was found guilty May 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $290 in fines and costs. One count of driving while license not valid was dismissed.

 

  • Hecter Louis Navaro, 40, of 2241 E. Ferry St., Shelby, was found guilty May 13 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $350 in fines and costs. One count of failure to display a valid license was dismissed.

 

  • Nicholas Cody Nielsen, 26, of 8836 E. Lake Dr., Hesperia, was found guilty May 13 of forest fires — setting fire without reasonable precaution and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs.

 

  • Brody Alexander Penoyer, 25, of 2740 N. 64th Ave., Hart, was found guilty May 13 of failure to report an accident and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs.

 

  • Darwin Reyes, 40, of 1026 Sheridan Ave., SW, Grand Rapids, was found guilty May 12 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs.
