Child, 6, hit by pickup truck receives minor injuries.

HART — A 6-year-old child hit by a pickup truck Saturday, May 15, on East Main Street sustained minor injuries, according to Hart Police Chief Juan Salazar.

“On Saturday, May 15, 2021, at approximately 1:05 p.m., the Hart Police Department was dispatched to the 200 block of East Main Street referencing a personal injury crash involving a pedestrian/vehicle,” stated Chief Salazar.  

“A 6-year-old juvenile was crossing East Main Street and ran directly in front of a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado travelling eastbound, which was driven by an 83-year-old Fruitport man.

“The juvenile sustained minor injuries and was transported by family to Mercy Health Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby for further evaluation.”
