78th District Court sentencings, April 28, 2021.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:
- Marissa Ann Fairchild, 24, of 4976 N. Maple Island Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty March 8 of methamphetamine use and was sentenced April 12 to one year suspended jail with credit for nine days served; six months probation; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by the probation officer; no alcohol/drugs; not to possess firearms; and $1,050 in fines and costs. One felony count of methamphetamine possession was dismissed.
- Jeffrey Scott Decheny, Jr., 39, of 5299 S. 168th Ave., Hesperia, was found guilty April 12 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for six days served and $150 in fines and costs. One count of unlawful license plate was dismissed.
- Riley James Thompson, 18, of 7667 S. 100th Ave., Rothbury, was found guilty April 12 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,055 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
- Deandre Bergen, 25, of 3153 W. Baseline Rd., Shelby, was found guilty April 14 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to $375 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
- Angelona Olivia Knowles, 18, of 2662 E. Sternberg Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty April 12 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail; outpatient treatment; and $1,105 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated — underage/blood alcohol content (BAC) .02-.07 was dismissed.
- Melenda Andrews Whipple, 32, of 8570 W. 10 Mile Rd., Bitely, was found guilty March 8 of methamphetamine use and was sentenced April 12 to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served; six months probation; driver’s license suspended 180 days/restricted after 30 days; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by the probation officer; no alcohol/drugs; not to possess firearms; and $1,025 in fines and costs. One felony count of methamphetamine possession was dismissed.
- Lorance Anthony Butler, 40, of 261 W. Barton St., Newaygo, was found guilty April 15 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $350 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
- Antonio Jesus Gonzales, 33, of 5710 W. 3rd St., Mears, was found guilty April 15 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $350 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
- Elizabeth Brininstool Head, 27, of 9088 E. M 20, Hesperia, was found guilty April 15 of operating an unregistered snowmobile and was sentenced to $330 in fines and costs.
- Joseph Christopher Peterson, 25, of 659 W. Wilke Rd., Rothbury, was found guilty April 15 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $150 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
- Orville Martin Smith, 64, of 1047 Holton Whitehall Rd., Whitehall, was found guilty April 15 of possession of open intoxicants and was sentenced to $465 in fines and costs.
- Cadenn Douglas Lorenz, 28, of W. Melody Lane, Hart, pleaded “no contest” April 12 to attempted assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for three days served and $500 in fines and costs.
- Robert Charles Brown, 35, of 429 Water St., Hart, was found guilty April 12 of driving while license not valid and was sentenced to $350 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
- Suante G. Davis, 45, of 3379 5th St., Muskegon Heights, was found guilty April 21 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $450 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
- Brandon Lee Slater, 26, of 3456 E. Harrison Rd., Hart, was found guilty April 21 of improper license and was sentenced to $125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
- Danielle Marie Velez, 50, of 414 S. Dryden St., Hart, was found guilty April 21 of failure to display a valid license and was sentenced to $125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
- Joesph Crus Pulsipher, 25, of 4570 N. 176th Ave., Walkerville, was found guilty April 19 of failure to stop for a personal injury accident and assault and battery and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for 41 days served and a $75 fine. Conviction reportable to SOS. Charges of receiving and concealing stolen property and driving on an expired license were dismissed.
- Jeremy Allen Morgan, 33, of 1822 N. 56th Ave., Mears, was found guilty April 19 of disorderly person — jostling and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $450 in fines and costs. One count of second-offense domestic violence was dismissed.
- Enrique Jesus Garza, 24, of 2320 W. Baseline Rd., Hart, was found guilty April 19 of third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for 68 days served and $331 in fines, costs and restitution. Charges of larceny less than $200 and improper license were dismissed.
