Woman allegedly runs over her boyfriend with car.

ROTHBURY — A 25-year-old Shelby woman allegedly ran over her boyfriend with her car on purpose Tuesday evening, April 13, on South Water Road near Winston Road, injuring him.

The boyfriend, who is a 28-year-old Rothbury man, was transported to Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus in Shelby for a leg injury and “multiple” injuries, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The Oceana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the 7 p.m. incident as a felonious assault. Although, the victim was uncooperative.

A witness found the victim lying in the road after he was run over by a white Buick passenger car.

“It’s a very unfortunate incident, and we’re trying to get to the bottom of this,” said Mast. The sheriff’s office will work with the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office to determine criminal charges.
