HART — Tickets are now on sale for the Hart High School Drama Club’s performance of “Little Women: The Broadway Musical.”
Shows are Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, at 7 p.m.; Sunday, May 2, at 2 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, May 7 and 8, at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, May 9, at 2 p.m. with casts A and B alternating each performance.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and are available at showtix4u.com by searching “Hart High School Drama Club.” Tickets can also be purchased by calling the showtix4u box office at 1-866-967-8167. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
The performances will follow state COVID-19 restrictions with 50 percent seating capacity.
“We will follow any current restrictions,” said Drama Club Advisor and Choir Director David Moul. “As of now, that means audience members wear masks.” There will be distanced seating in the auditorium, and all characters are double-cast or understudied.
“This season, the Hart Drama Club has double-cast or understudied all characters,” said Moul. “By having casts A and B, more students can be involved across the two full weekends of performances, and we will be able to cover any part if any cast member becomes ill prior to the show. It also allows us to still perform for the same number of patrons as we would normally, during a one-weekend show. Navigating our current situation really brings to life — the old adage, ‘the show must go on!’
“This has been a hard year on many fronts,” he said. “A great difficulty being the halt of fine arts in our culture. We take for granted how much our lives are impacted by live, in-person theater, music, and other arts. It is so exciting to see this area of society waking back up to bring collaboration and life back to our communities. Last year’s seniors lost their final show of their high school career due to shut downs. We are determined to be as creative as possible to give this year’s seniors the final show they deserve and to reanimate this necessary program for our students. My hope for these students is that our community will rally around them and show their support by giving them a great turn out for their performances. We cannot wait for the community to see this poignant show. It will be one to remember!”
