Pirate News: Spitler kindergarten round-up April 21.

Pirate News is a service of Hart Public Schools in cooperation with Oceana County Press. 

HART — Kindergarten round-up at Spitler Elementary School is set for Wednesday, April 21, from 4-6 p.m. in the school gym. 

Each child will get to choose a new book on the book bus, and there will be a photo backdrop available for families to use while capturing the milestone moment. “Every kid will get to go on the Spitler Book Bus and get a free book,” said Principal Andrea Degen.

The video “A Day in the Life of a Spitler Kindergartner” will be playing to show the students what it’s like to be a kindergarten student at Spitler Elementary School.

All children who will be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2021 may register for kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year. 

Parents can pick up registration forms beginning Monday, April 5. The following are required to register: certified birth certificate, up-to-date immunization records, proof of residency (such as a utility bill or a rent receipt), a photo ID of parent/legal guardian and a proof of the child’s hearing/vision screening. 

Registration forms will be available at the Spitler office, the central business office and at www.hartschools.net — click on “schools”; click on “Spitler”; click on “Kindergarten Enrollment.” There will also be a container of packets available right outside the school for parents to pick up, said Principal Degen.

Social distancing will be practiced during the event, and facial masks are required to enter the building.
