Fire damages Walkerville area body shop.
LEAVITT TOWNSHIP — Fire damaged Leo’s Body Shop, 3959 N. 166th Ave., Wednesday, March 10. Walkerville Fire Department Chief Al Purdy said the fire started from a wood stove. He said he believes high wind gusts caused coals from the wood stove to spread outside of the stove, catching the building on fire. Walkerville Fire Department, Crystal Valley Fire Department, and Hart Fire Department spent over five hours battling the blaze. On Thursday morning, Walkerville Fire Department was called back to the scene for a re-ignition.
