78th District Court sentencings, March 1, 2021.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

  • Jason Daniel Yonker, 34, of 2138 N. Federal, Pierson, Michigan, was found guilty Feb. 17 of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served; must continue counseling; and $1,305 in fines and costs. Charges of transporting open intoxicants and unlawful license plate were dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
  • Timothy Lee Veltman, 36, of 5650 S. Oceana Dr., New Era, was found guilty Feb. 22 of operating a snowmobile while intoxicated and was sentenced to 15 days in jail; outpatient treatment; and $665 in fines and costs. He cannot operate a snowmobile for six months. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating an unregistered snowmobile was dismissed.
  • Alfred William Stanley, 32, of 11 Cedar Rd., Twin Lake, was found guilty Feb. 24 of DWLS and was sentenced to 50 days in jail with credit for 50 days served and $195 in fines and costs.
  • Nicole Lynn Kaiser, 32, of 214 Danaher St., Ludington, was found guilty Feb. 25 of breaking and entering — illegal entry and was sentenced to a $75 fine.
  • Samantha Rae Figger, 27, of 374 W. Shelby Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 16 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; Alcohol Highway Safety Education (AHSE); and $1,105 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Kristina Anne Gucinski, 51, of 7719 Forest Court NE, Rockford, Michigan, was found guilty Feb. 16 of operating while impaired and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served; AHSE; and $1,120 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Justin Tavish Eitniear, 26, of 966 Amity Ave., Muskegon, was found guilty Feb. 9 of third-degree retail fraud and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail and $408 in fines, costs and restitution.
  • Drew Daniel Buozis, 24, of 520 E. Main St., Hart, was found guilty Feb. 9 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $200 in fines and costs. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
  • Matthew Lewis Borushko, 36, of 721 Fowler St., Muskegon, was found guilty Feb. 17 of a conservation violation and was sentenced to $325 in fines and costs. One count of excessive deer bait was dismissed.
  • Sheldon James Berridge-Griffes, 24, of 7342 Thomas Ave., Jenison, Michigan, was found guilty Feb. 17 of improper attachment/registration on a snowmobile and was sentenced to $325 in fines and costs.
  • Miguel Angel Guerrero, 39, of 120 N. Michigan Ave., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 17 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $475 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Guy James Stanhope, 25, of 6030 Ewing Rd., Twin Lake, was found guilty Feb. 17 of excessive deer bait and was sentenced to $450 in fines and costs.
  • Dorothy May Beach, 22, of 2892 Roosevelt Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Feb. 18 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to $350 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.
  • Michael James Hoffman, 61, of 9876 W. Baseline Rd., Mears, was found guilty Feb. 18 of excessive deer bait and was sentenced to $375 in fines and costs.
  • Nicholas Lee-Scott Michels, 26, of 25 S. Walhalla Rd., Fountain, was found guilty Feb. 18 of DWLS and was sentenced to $520 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Rolando Castillo, 49, of 1825 N. 56th Ave., Mears, was found guilty Feb. 16 of DWLS and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served and $500 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of operating without insurance was dismissed.
  • Joshua Daniel-Riggs Easton, 41, of 1840 N. 56th Ave., Mears, was found guilty of DWLS and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail and $450 in fines and costs. A second count of DWLS was dismissed. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Demetrice James Campbell, 21, of 15749 S. US 27, Lansing, was found guilty Feb. 22 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail with credit for one day served ad $450 in fines and costs. Charges of unlawful license plates and operating without a license were dismissed.
  • Morgan Renee Worth, 39, of 916 N. 34th Ave., Mears, was found guilty Feb. 22 of disorderly person — drunk and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $450 in fines and costs. 
  • Zachary Adam Ohrling, 30, of 120 Munn St., Hesperia, was found guilty Feb. 23 of DWLS and was sentenced to one year discretionary jail and $500 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of improper license was dismissed.
  • Guy James Stanhope, 25, of 6030 Ewing Rd., Twin Lake, was found guilty Feb. 25 of operating an unregistered snowmobile and was sentenced to $125 in fines and costs.
  • Michael Allen Denney, 51, of 1887 E. Fish Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 22 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail and $450 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS. One count of improper license was dismissed.
  • Kimberly Sue Cushman, 36, of 5180 Dickinson Rd., Hesperia, was found guilty Feb. 22 of allowing a suspended person to operate and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail and $450 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.

Dismissals

  • Gary Lee Marvin, Jr., 28, of 9165 Adams, Hesperia, one felony count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm was dismissed Feb. 22.
  • Damian Lee Schaefer, 21, of 395 Main St., Walkerville, one felony count of first-degree home invasion was dismissed, Feb. 8.
  • Guadalupe Rae Flores, 39, of 5595 Taylor Rd., Mears, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon was dismissed Feb. 24. “The defendant was evaluated by medical professionals, and the judge signed an order to have her involuntarily hospitalized,” her court file states. “The victim does not wish to pursue criminal charges.”
  • Anna Lee Cosme, 45, of 5725 Oneida Tr., New Era, one count of improper license was dismissed Feb. 16.
