78th District Court sentencings, Feb. 5, 2021.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

  • Kenneth Edward Netzler, Jr., 58, of 1145 Kampenga Ave., Muskegon, was found guilty Feb. 1 of operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $1,155 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS).
  • Steven Charles Wernstrom, 42, of 10601 US 31, Montague, pleaded “no contest” Jan. 25 to operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to 93 days suspended jail with credit for 93 days served and $500 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.
  • Deanna Marie Gonzalez, 33, of 93 Sessions Rd., Shelby, was found guilty Feb. 1 of disturbing the peace and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail with credit for one day served and $500 in fines and costs. One count of assault and battery was dismissed.
  • James Alden Haines, 56, of 2164 S. Fenner Rd., Caro, Michigan, was found guilty Feb. 3 of ORV — driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to $400 in fines and costs. One count of DWLS was dismissed.
  • Jeffrey Paul Bonin, 58, of 514 Elsa St., N. Muskegon, was found guilty Feb. 3 of illegal taking/possessing of waterfowls (ducks) and was sentenced to $800 in fines and costs. “Defendant may withdraw guilty plea after paying fines/costs in full,” court records state.
  • Cody James Hammerle, 27, of 1846 Shettler Rd., Muskegon, was found guilty Feb. 3 of excessive deer bait and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs.
  • John Edwin Hayes, 73, of 1541 N. York Rd., Hart, was found guilty Feb. 3 of excessive deer bait and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs.
  • Ted Eric Coffman, Jr., 57, of 8926 Hillcrest Dr., Zeeland, Michigan, was found guilty Jan. 27 of failure to wear a personal flotation device (PFD) and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. “Once paid in full, contact prosecutor’s office within 60 days to withdraw plea per agreement,” his court file states.
  • Joseph C. Arens, Jr., 52, of 6481 S. Tall Pine Trail, Newaygo, was found guilty Feb. 3 of excessive deer bait and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs.
  • Daniel Lynn Meeuwenberg, 26, of 9 W. Dayton, Fremont, was found guilty Jan. 29 of failure to display a valid license and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs.
  • Jeffrey Paul Verwey, 41, of 3373 S. Speck Lake Dr., Allegan, Michigan, was found guilty Feb. 2 of allowing a person to drive in violation and was sentenced to 90 days suspended jail and $400 in fines and costs. One count of alcohol — open container in a vehicle was dismissed.
  • Scott Alan Tapanila, 57, of 1092 Park Rd., Twin Lake, was found guilty Feb. 3 of excessive deer bait and was sentenced to $300 in fines and costs. 

Dismissals

  • Millissa Anne Dougherty, 23, of 7169 88th Ave., Rothbury, charges of domestic violence and malicious destruction of property less than $200 were dismissed Feb. 2.
