HART — A 22-year-old Shelby man faces a one-year jail term after pleading guilty to third-degree criminal sexual conduct (CSC) in 27th Circuit Court Monday, Jan. 25.

Devon Gray Henley, of 318 Elm St., had a consensual relationship with a 15-year-old girl when he was 21 years old, said Oceana County Prosecutor Joseph Bizon.

When asked by Judge Robert D. Springstead how he knew the girl, Henley answered, “I met her through a friend.”

Third-degree CSC is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Sentencing guidelines in the case are 12-24 months.

Sentencing is set for April 5 at 10:15 a.m.

Henley appeared in court via Zoom video conferencing due to COVID-19.
