OWI arrests, cash thefts top police activity.

The following is recent activity of the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office:

Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020:

  • 6:57 p.m., larceny of a wallet containing over $200, West Chippewa Trail, Benona Township.
  • 10:13 p.m., larceny of cash from a vehicle, West Baseline Road, Hart Township.

Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020:

  • 2:20 a.m., failure to report an accident, no injuries, East Harrison Road, Elbridge Township. A report is being submitted to the Oceana County Prosecutor’s Office for a 22-year-old Walkerville man.

Friday, Jan. 1, 2021:

  • 1:43 p.m., trespassing, West Shelby Road, Shelby Township. A group of snowmobilers accessed property and left.

Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021:

  • 3:57 p.m., a 36-year-old New Era man was arrested for operating while intoxicated (OWI) on a snowmobile, William Field Memorial Hart-Montague Trail, Shelby Township.

Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021:

  • 12:49 p.m., a 27-year-old Shelby woman arrested for OWI, West Shelby Road, Shelby Township.
