Mears man, 78, arrested for sixth drunk driving.

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 78-year-old Mears man was arrested by Oceana County sheriff’s deputies Saturday, Dec. 20, at 3:45 p.m., for third-offense operating while intoxicated, subsequent-offense driving while license suspended (DWLS) and open intoxicants on North 56th Avenue, according to Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.

The man has been arrested for third-offense drunk driving three previous times, said Mast. He remains lodged in the Oceana County Jail.

Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020:

– 10:41 p.m., a 58-year-old New Era man was arrested for second-offense OWI and second-offense DWLS, Oceana Drive, Grant Township.

– 10:55 p.m., a 25-year-old Hart woman was cited for DWLS, South Oceana Drive, Shelby Township.

Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020:

– 12:13 a.m., domestic assault, 2400 block of East Garfield Road, Ferry Township.
