City hosts drive-by reception for outgoing council members.
Mayor Ron LaPorte retires after 35 years.
HART— Hart Mayor Ron LaPorte is retiring from the Hart City Council after serving the city in many different capacities since 1985. Three other council members — Joe Frontiera, Steve Hegedus and Jason La Fever — conclude their current service to the city following the Nov. 3 election.
As four members of the Hart City Council conclude their service to the city, a drive-by thank you reception will take place in the Hart City Hall parking lot prior to the Tuesday, Nov. 10, council meeting.
Beginning at 6:45 p.m., staff members will be on hand to pass out cookies to citizens who would like to have an opportunity to thank Ron, Joe, Steve and Jason for their service and may make their way through an appropriately social-distanced reception event, states a press release from the city.
Guests are asked to remain in their cars and will have the opportunity to pull up and speak to the honorees as they drive through the upper parking lot and exit via the lower parking lot onto Jefferson Street.
“Please join us in thanking these gentlemen for their service to the community,” the press release states.
