78th District Court sentencings, dismissals.

HART — The following were sentenced recently in 78th District Court:

– Mohamed Ali Hassan, 30, of 5770 W. 7th St., Mears, was found guilty Feb. 24 of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced Oct. 19 to 30 days in jail; outpatient treatment; and $1,855 in fines and costs. One count of operating while intoxicated was dismissed. Conviction reportable to the Secretary of State (SOS). Probation, which was ordered Feb. 24, is revoked, according to his court file. “A probation violation has been proven by a preponderance of the evidence.”

– Andrew Scott Henion, 30, of 64 S. Michigan Ave., Shelby,, was found guilty Oct. 5 of second-offense operating while intoxicated and was sentenced to one year suspended jail; six months probation; outpatient treatment; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation; no alcohol/drugs; and $1,830 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Matthew Michael Sarber, 32, of 2725 Forrest St., Rothbury, pleaded “no contest” Oct. 19 to domestic violence and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for two days served; six months probation; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation; no alcohol/drugs; no contact with the victim; and $1,000 in fines and costs.

– Alejandro Joseph Salazar, 36, of 3511 Ridge Rd., Mears, pleaded “no contest” Oct. 19 to indecent exposure and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for five days served; six months probation; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation; no alcohol/drugs; and $1,125 in fines and costs. Charges of disorderly person — drunk and consuming alcohol on a highway were dismissed.

– Trad Paul Sheafor, 30, of 5825 W. 7th St., Mears, was found guilty Oct. 19 of malicious destruction of trees/shrubs/crops/grass and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served; $23,055 in restitution; and $200 in fines and costs. A second count of malicious destruction of trees/shrubs/crops/grass was dismissed.

– Tasha Priscilla Steketee, 32, of 9770 North Granger, Irons, was found guilty Oct. 19 of domestic violence and was sentenced to six months probation; must submit to testing, searches and counseling as directed by probation; no alcohol/drugs; no contact with the victims; and $590 in fines and costs. Two counts of assault and battery were dismissed.

– Josh T. Talbot, 42, of 5601 32nd Ave., Moline, Illinois, was found guilty Oct. 21 of fishing without a license and was sentenced to $265 in fines and costs. “Fishing license to be revoked for remaining of 2020 and all of 2021,” his court file states.

– Orlando Roberto Torres, 40, of 9 N. Courtland St., Hart, was found guilty Oct. 23 of animals running at large and was sentenced to $255 in fines and costs.

– Robert Charles Brown, 35, of 429 S. Water St., Hart, was found guilty Oct. 21 of driving while license suspended (DWLS) and was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for one day served and $125 in fines and costs. Conviction reportable to SOS.

– Trent Austin Coopshaw, 18, of 13497 St. Rt. 120, Lyons, Ohio, was found guilty Oct. 23 of ORV — operating on highway or right-of-way and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– Jacob Samuel Brown, 23, of 950 Marie St., Hesperia, was found guilty Oct. 21 of unlawful license plates and was sentenced to $345 in fines and costs.

– John Mark Raber, 22, of 64210 State Rd., Goshen, Illinois was found guilty Oct. 23 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– Jose Manuel Paguda, 37, of 12553 76th Ave., Allendale, was found guilty Oct. 23 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– Grant Ryan Wolf, 27, of 2904 Baker Rd., Dexter, Michigan, was found guilty Oct. 23 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– Mark Allen McNaulty, 23, of 2614 S. Scenic Hwy., Frankfort, was found guilty Oct. 23 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

– William Craig Buchanan, 59, of 7736 W. Fox Rd., Mears, was found guilty Oct. 19 of operating without insurance and was sentenced to one year suspended jail with credit for one day served and $450 in fines and costs.

– Holly Jo Devries, 25, of 7493 Waterline Dr., Allendale, was found guilty Oct. 23 of operating an ORV on a public road and was sentenced to $250 in fines and costs.

Dismissals

– Frederick Lee Abbatoy, Jr., 35, of 20 E. Mechanic St., Hart, one count of domestic violence was dismissed Oct. 22. “The victim in this matter is unwilling to cooperate with the prosecution of the defendant,” his court file states.

– Anthony Michael Bush, 52, of 15440 144th Ave., Spring Lake, one count of excessive deer bait was dismissed Oct. 20.

– Fredric Arthur Hall, 82, of 17142 Arthur Crt., Spring Lake, one count of excessive deer bait was dismissed Oct. 20.

– Annalisa Sandborn, 40, of 901 Marshall St., Portland, Michigan, one count of transporting open intoxicants was dismissed Oct. 15.

– Gary Dale Wendt, 53, of 5012 Evergreen Dr., Newaygo, one count of excessive deer bait was dismissed Oct. 20.

– Keaton Thomas Bass, 23, of 1539 N. Wells St., Chicago, one count of violation of the 100-foot rule — operating a personal watercraft within 100 feet of a person in the water was dismissed Oct. 22.
