Shelby to flush hydrants next week.
SHELBY — The Village of Shelby will perform hydrant flushing the week of October 5-9 beginning each night at 9 p.m.
“While flushing hydrants, the water in the pipes can get cloudy which can draw cloudy water into residents’ faucets,” states a Village of Shelby press release. “Do not be alarmed if your water becomes cloudy — simply run your faucet for a few minutes until it becomes clear again. In an effort to decrease the chance that cloudy water will enter your pipes, hydrant flushing is done at night due to lower the water use during that time.”
