Child neglect case tops weekend police activity.

The following is police activity in Oceana County over the weekend:

Friday, Sept. 25, 2020:

1:36 p.m., (Oceana County Sheriff’s Office), child neglect, East Roosevelt Road, Greenwood Township. A 29-year-old Holton woman was turned over to Child Protective Services after her 3-year-old child walked to the neighbor’s house, and no adult could be located at the child’s home for “an extended period of time,” said Lt. Shane Hasty.

– 5:20 p.m., (Michigan State Police), ORV crash causing injury, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Golden Township. No other information was immediately available.

Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020:

– 10:51 a.m., (OCSO), damage to property, East Main Street, Village of Walkerville. A 1995 Ford Mustang’s headlights were broken out, and the car’s body was damaged. The suspect is 32-year-old woman from the Bitely area.

– 2:30 p.m., (OCSO), a 23-year-old Walkerville man was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, East Main Street, Village of Walkerville.

– 6:26 p.m., (MSP), a 35-year-old Muskegon man was arrested on two outstanding warrants, 7000 block of East Woodrow Road, Newfield Township. The suspect was turned over to Muskegon County authorities.

– 9:08 p.m., (MSP), car/deer crash, Oceana Drive near West Baker Road, Shelby Township.

– 9:25 p.m., (OCSO), a 39-year-old White Cloud man was cited for driving while license suspended (DWLS), South 192 Avenue, Greenwood Township.

– 11:04 p.m., (MSP), a 25-year-old Shelby man was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2000 block of South 56th Avenue, Benona Township.

Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020:

– 11 p.m., (OCSO), assault, North 100th Avenue, Hart Township. A child told deputies he was slapped in the back of the head by a motorist while he was riding his bike down the road.
