Polk Road closure begins next week.

HART — Polk Road/Business Route US 31 between the US 31 expressway and Comfort Drive (approximately 700 feet east of the northbound US 31 ramps) will be closed starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 7 a.m. through Nov. 2, according to Theresa Eilers, assistant construction engineer for the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The posted detour for Hart traffic is US 31 to Monroe Road/exit 154, east to Oceana Drive, and south to Polk Rd west. An alternate detour is taking the Hart exit at Polk Road/exit 149, west on Polk Road to 56th Avenue, north to Tyler Road, east to 72nd Avenue and south to Polk Road.

The road closure is required for a $1.1 million project to replace the Russell Creek culvert.
