Oceana 4-H virtual animal auction continues through Wednesday.

HART — Due to COVID-19, the 4-H Animal Auction for the Oceana County Fair has gone virtual.

The auctions began today, Aug. 24, and continue until Wednesday, Aug. 26.

“We have 90 animals we’re auctioning — 23 steers, 46 hogs, six sheep, one pen of rabbits, five pens of chickens, three pens of turkeys and four feed calfs,” said Oceana County 4-H Program Director Sarah Schaner.

“Buyers pay an animal price, and they pay a processing price. We have hauling to the processors. All people have to do is pick up the meat at their chosen processor.

“We can take check, or you can pay with a credit card right through the site,” said Schaner.

Buyers can register at any time. They can create an account online or call the MSU Extension office.
