Dirt bike rider injured in dune crash.
GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — A 22-year-old Grand Blanc, Michigan man was injured in a dirt bike crash at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Monday, Aug. 17, around 4:30 p.m., according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
“(The) driver advised that he was south on Test Hill on his 2019 KTM dirt bike and crested the hill at a high rate of speed,” the report states. “(The) driver advised that he lost control on the backside of the hill and was thrown from the vehicle. The foot peg of the bike struck the driver’s left leg and created a large laceration.”
The man self-transported to Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby. He was wearing a helmet during the crash, the report states.
