2 separate weekend crashes result in injuries.
NEWFIELD TOWNSHIP — Two people were transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners Hackley Campus in Muskegon following a single-vehicle crash Sunday, Aug. 9, at 8:30 p.m. on East Yonker Road near 204th Avenue, according to an Oceana County Sheriff’s Office accident report.
A Hesperia man driving a 2005 Chevrolet four-door car and his passenger — a 14-year-old Hesperia boy — were injured.
“The driver was traveling at a high-rate of speed down a seasonal gravel road when he lost control of the vehicle, crossing over the center of the roadway into a tree,” the accident report states. They were both wearing seatbelts.
The driver was cited for careless driving.
Two people were injured in a separate crash Friday, Aug. 7, around 3:45 p.m. on East Garfield Road near South 154th Avenue in Otto Township, according to an accident report from the sheriff’s office.
A 2002 Ford Super Duty SRW pickup truck driven by a 54-year-old Hesperia man driving collided with a 2012 Ford Focus driven by an 18-year-old Hesperia man.
Both were checked by Life EMS but were not transported to the hospital, the report states.
“Vehicle #1 was pulling out of a farm drive and did not see Vehicle #2 traveling eastbound on Garfield Road,” the report states. “Vehicle #2 was not able to stop and collided into the side of Vehicle #1.”
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
