Motorcyclist flees from police going 80-100 mph.
GRANT TOWNSHIP — An Oceana County sheriff’s deputy “terminated” a chase of a fleeing motorcyclist on West Roosevelt Road Wednesday evening, July 22, due to the danger of the situation, said Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop shortly before 8:30 p.m. because the motorcycle had no tail lights, Mast said. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, fled from the deputy’s patrol car going 80-100 mph for about two miles.
