4 injured in sand dune crash.

GOLDEN TOWNSHIP — Four people were injured in an ATV crash on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Saturday afternoon, July 11.

A 54-year-old Dearborn Heights man “crested the dune too fast” with his 2019 Polaris RZR, which went airborne, states an accident report from the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office. “When the Polaris RZR landed on the front end, it impacted the sand forcefully, injuring the occupants and damaging the Polaris RZR,” the report states.

Passengers were a 38-year-old Canton, Michigan woman, a 51-year-old Dearborn Heights woman and a 54-year-old Canton man. Two passengers were transported by Life EMS to Mercy Health Partners (MHP) Hackley campus in Muskegon. One of the passengers and the driver sought treatment at MHP Lakeshore Campus in Shelby, according to the report.
